United Airlines isn’t just offering cheap flights to new york right now. They’re also offering flights from SFO to Boston for the same price. $229 including all taxes and fees.

Must fly on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Flight time between San Francisco and Boston is about 6 hours.

Flights are direct, and flight price is for roundtrip flights.

United flights won’t give you a personal TV screen as would Virgin or JetBlue, but at this price, they’re worth consideration.

United Airlines is offering discount flights to New York from San Francisco for $229 roundtrip including all taxes and fees.

Flights are direct, and take about 6 hours each way.

I’m not a huge fan of United, but for $229 roundtrip, I’ll take it.

Virgin America is also a good option for flights to New York as well, but those flights tend to cost more towards $300, and you often need to book a month or two in advance as their flights also tend to fill up quickly.

Virgin America continues to offer direct flights between SFO and LAX airports for $59 plus taxes and fees. For a roundtrip flight, that will cost you $139.

If you book a few months ahead of time, you can fly on pretty much any day or at any time. In general the flights happening in the afternoon or later tend to fill up quickly, but morning flights are often available last minute as an alternative.

If you’re booking a flight down to LA, I’d suggest always checking the Southwest Airlines site as well, as their flights don’t show up on most airline search sites.

Otherwise, Virgin is usually the best, though JetBlue, American Airlines, and United all also offer direct flights to LA.

If you’re going to ski utah, Southwest Airlines is one of the best ways to get there.

You can find roundtrip direct flights to Salt Lake City from SFO for $200 roundtrip. Depending on the weekend that you are traveling, you sometimes need to fly on a week day.

Delta, United, and JetBlue all offer flights to Salt Lake City as well, usually costing about $260 roundtrip.

Direct flights between San Francisco and Salt Lake take about two hours. Often the same amount of time it will take to get over Donner Pass during a snow storm.

Once in Salt Lake, everyone has their favorite ski spots, but if you’re a first timer, I’d suggest renting a condo or apartment near downtown Park City, and then you can do single days at Canyons, Deer Valley, and Park City.

Canyons is my personal favorite, but Deer Valley comes close.

Emirates is offering one-stop flights to Dar Es Salam Tanzania from San Francisco for $1370 roundtrip including all taxes and fees.

Flights have layovers in Dubai. The flight from San Francisco to Dubai takes just over 15 hours, and the flight from Dubai to Dar Es Salaam takes just over five hours.

Layovers in Dubai are usually about 10-15 hours. Combined flight time is roughly 35 hours.

Flights on other airlines are almost always over $2,000 and also take about 30 hours, often flying through European cities or US cities on the East Coast.

American Airlines offers a few discount flights to Dar Es Salaam, but they fly on often irregular days.

Flights with Emirates are available on almost every day of the week, so you can swing two weekend flights at no extra cost.

Once in Dar Es Salaam, its easy to catch a very comfortable bus ride up to Mt. Kilimanjaro, or head straight into the Serengeti for a safari.

If you’re looking for beautiful beaches, head East to Bwejuu Beach or Zanzibar Beach. Pemba beach is also in the Zanzibar archipelago.

Alaska Airlines is offering discount direct flights to Kona and Maui from San Jose starting on March 12th.

This is a new route for Alaska Airlines, so they’re offering this deal to fill up their planes initially.

Alaska Airlines is also offering discount flights between Sacramento and Maui starting on March 26th.

Kona airport is located on Hawaii’s big island. You can also catch flights between Hawaiian islands for about $50-75 each way.

This winter, Alaska Airlines and United Airlines are offering direct flights to Cabo San Lucas Mexico from San Francisco for $320 including all taxes and fees.

Flights leave on Friday morning and return either on Sunday or Monday afternoon.

You can also get one-stop flights that usually either stop in LA, Phoenix, or Dallas for $301, though sometimes with one-stop flights, airlines will re-route you to another city without warning, so paying an extra $20 for a direct flight is often times worth it.

When in Cabo, there is plenty of nightlife and restaurants, but one of the best activities is sports fishing. My suggestion would be to pack a day pack then walk into one of the fishing stores in downtown Cabo, and negotiate a fishing trip. You can often get a personal boat with a guide, equipment, and bate for about $150-200 US.

In terms of timing, for some reason, the middle week in February is a little more expensive, so if you can, try traveling in late January or late February or March.

Hot on the heals of the British Airways discount announcement, I’m researching flight prices for many of their top destinations, including this one, Cairo.

Round trip flights between San Francisco and Cairo will cost no less than $954 including all taxes and fees. You generally save about $50 by flying during the week, but weekend flights will cost just a little over $1000.

Flights typically take about 24 hours and have layovers in Europe.

If you have two weeks, I’d suggest looking at spending a couple of days in Europe as well, as you can usually find cheap flights from any of the major European cities and Cairo (usually about $500 round trip), especially Paris, Amsterdam, or Frankfurt.
