$730 - Flights to Australia from San Francisco this Fall

We can all thank Air New Zealand again for this one. If you don’t want to do a three-way flight for about 50 dollars more, which includes New Zealand in your trip, you can fly one-stop to Australia from San Francisco for $730 and up on Air New Zealand.

Flying to Melbourne will cost $730 including all taxes and fees on most days.
Flying to Sydney will cost $744 including all taxes and fees on most days.

Air New Zealand will even offer you these prices around Christmas time, when flight prices typically go up significantly.

I’m still waiting for Qantas Airlines to offer another flight discount to Australia, but not counting on it, especially around Christmas Time.

United is also offering cheap flights to Australia, but the quality of the flight is going to be significantly less than with Air New Zealand, which offers you personal TV screens, and much more leg room.

Australia is one of the best places to fly right now from San Francisco, and flights only take about 20 hours each way, including the layover.

The Australian dollar is particularly week against the US dollar right now too.
