Come September, flight prices to Barcelona have dropped as well. Especially on flights flying on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Iberia Airlines is offering two-stop flights between San Francisco and Barcelona for $565 roundtrip including all taxes and fees.

Flight have a quick layover in both Chicago and Madrid. Iberia is running multiple flights on each day, so you have some flexibility in terms of when you fly, and flight price should stay under $600 for a little while.

Flight price is valid in September and October.

Any down side? Flight time is about 20 hours each way.

Also, on other days of the week some days are about $650, but for that much, you could fly to Athens.
