Old Town Zhujiajiao is Just a Day Trip away from Shanghai

Must book a couple of weeks in advance. Flights at this price are available on most days of the week. May need to stay for at least one week. China also requires a traveler visa to enter the country. American citizens must pay $130 for any length of visit, and must secure a special type of visa for any visit to China for more than 3 months.
Once in Shanghai hotels can be as cheap as $40 US for a 4 star hotel.
I’d also suggest looking at day trips to old Chinese towns outside Shanghai. For example, Zhujiajiao ancient folk town is just a 50 minute drive outside of the city.
This is also a great time to visit Shanghai, as Shanghai is situated halfway up the Chinese coast, and does not get as hot as Hong Kong or other parts of Southern China.
