Jet America has just announced that it will begin allowing anyone to book flights on their website for flights leaving any time after July 13th.

Lucky for us, Jet America has a hub at Newark airport, so we can book $9 one-way flights to Toledo, Orlando, Lansing, or Southbend.

Note that they are planning on making a profit from fees - $10 or $5 booking fees are not uncommon. So the $9 ticket charge is a bit of a marketing gimmick.

Starting in late June, American Airlines is offering direct flights to Montreal from New York City for $259. Flight time is an hour and a half each way. American Airlines flights leave from Laguardia Airport.

Delta Airlines also offers discount flights to Montreal from New York, leaving from JFK International Airport. Prices on Delta flights are a little higher but not much.

The cheapest flights to Montreal leave on Saturday June 20th, and come back on June 23rd. Perfect timing for a big weekend north of the border.

Delta Airlines is offering non-stop flights to Prague (Airport Code: PRG) from JFK Airport in New York for $482 roundtrip on a number of a different days.

Flight Details:

Must book your flight two weeks in advance. Dates of travel seem to be fairly flexible, but the cheapest dates are Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I found these deals for the month of July, but there may also be some cheap flights to Prague in August.

Things to do in Prague:

Nestled in the center of Czech Republic, and former Czechoslovakia, Prague has been a commercial and industrial hub of Eastern Europe for Hundred, possibly Thousands of years, depending on who you talk to.

In the middle of 20th century, while many Eastern European cities saw their historical sites demolished in battle, Prague chose the peaceful route, letting invaders occupy their city with little to no fighting within the city walls.

Thus, Prague is filled with spectacular old buildings, cathedrals, churches, synagogues, squares, and of course, Prague Bridge, which has been featured in many blockbuster films, including the original Mission Impossible, starring everyone’s favorite Scientologist, Tom Cruise.

Prague Castle is often a top draw for many visitors as well. Looking over the whole city, its easy to book a quick tour of the castle. I’d recommend incorporating a visit to Prague Castle with a walking tour of the whole city. There are many expats waiting in hostels to take you around the city for 10-20 bucks US.

In July, Continental is offering direct rountrip flight to Toyko (NRT) from Newark Liberty Airport (EWR).

Flights Details:

Flight deals are available on many different dates in July. American Airlines has also just announced discount flights to Tokyo from New York, but I haven’t seen this flights showing up in search results yet.

Flight time between Tokyo and Newark is 12 to 14 hours each way for direct flights.

Things to Do in Tokyo:

While in Tokyo, Japan, check out Sensoji Temple, Asakusa, Edo-Tokyo Museum, Tsukiji Market, or Meiji Jingu.

While United and American Airlines are offering nationwide flight discounts, Continental Airlines is quietly offering discount flights to Hawaii from Laguardia airport for $397 roundtrip.

Flight Restrictions:

This flight price is available for many different days in August. Some specific dates are August 12 - August 24 , and August 18 - August 29.

Things to Do in Hawaii:

Explore any of the major islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai, or Hawaii Big Island. Once there, sail in a Hawaiian canoe, check out Hilo’s rainbow falls, trip it to Cool Hawi, walk through botanical gardens, explore lava tubes, go shopping in Honomu, or plan a romantic getaway in Maui.

Throughout the month of June, United Airlines and British Airways are offering one-stop flights to Madrid roundtrip for $573.

Flight Restrictions:

This is an ongoing fare special, so no rush to book, and there seems to be quite a bit of flexibility in terms of when you can book.

Getting around Madrid:

Most people use the city subway to get around Madrid. Sol station is at the center of the subway routes, overall trains run every 3 to 5 minutes during the day and every 10 to 15 minutes at night.

Best Place to Eat in Madrid:

Its impossible to pick a single eatery with such a vast range of top-quality restaurants of all kinds throughout the city. A friend of mine once recommended El Buey , saying its the best steak he’s ever eaten. I’d also suggest Casa Labra Taberna Restaurante, which offers inexpensive meals, and is where the Spanish socialist party has its roots.

Just announced by Continental Airlines - Fly to Quebec City from Newark airport over the weekend for $179.

Flight Restrictions:

Must book before this Friday. Must fly on Saturday, and return on either Monday or Tuesday. $179 includes fees and taxes. So, you’ll be getting a flight to Quebec City for under 200 dollars.

Overall, Quebec City is a beautiful city just to walk around in, but there are a number of outdoors sites in the area as well. Within the city, check out the Cathedral Notre Dame de Quebec as well as Discover Pavillion.

Also as part of their most recent fare discount announcements, JetBlue is offering one-way flight to Tampa Bay from new York for $69 each way. That’s $140 roundtrip.

Flight Restrictions:

Fare requires a 10-day advance purchase. Travel must be completed by June 17, 2009. Travel must take place on Tuesday and/or Wednesday.

As part of their most recent flight discount announcement, Jetblue is offering flights between New York and Ft. Lauderdale Florida for $89 each way. That makes it $180 roundtrip.

Flight Restrictions:

Fare requires a 10-day advance purchase. Travel must be completed by June 17, 2009. Travel must take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Saturday .

Continental Airlines is offering non-stop and one-stop flights to Austin from Newark Airport for $300 roundtrip.

Flight Details:

Continental Airlines is running multiple flights every day, so there should be some flexibility in terms of which days you book. You should also be able to land these prices for a weekend trip. Non-Stop flights are just under 4 hours long, and one-stop flights to Austin from Newark are usually about 6 hours, with a one-hour layover.
