US Airways is offering all kinds of cheap flights around the US right now. Included in these deals, are roundtrip flights between New York and LA for $211 including all taxes and fees.
The cheapest flights are on Wednesdays and Thursdays and have quick layovers in Milwaukee.
Midwest Airlines and AirTran are also operating discount flights between New York and LA right now.
Of course, Virgin America is also an option, but these flights tend to be $50-100 more, though direct, and much more enjoyable than flights with United, Midwest, or AirTran.

Orlando Has the Most Rollercoasters per Capita in the US
As long as you aren’t flying the week of Christmas and New Years, JetBlue and Continental Airlines are offering roundtrip direct flights to Orlando from LaGuardia airport for $179 including all taxes and fees.
Flight time is about two and a half hours each way.
JetBlue has TVs on their flights too which is nice. That, and blue potato chips.
JetBlue also had a fire on one of their flights recently, but that could have happened to any airline.

Not Just a Coastal Town - Check out Nice's Old City
This Fall, TAP Portugal is offering one-stop flights to Nice, France from New York City for $584 roundtrip including all taxes and fees.
I found this flight price on a bunch of different dates, though you will usually need to fly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Flying on the weekends will cost a couple hundred dollars typically.
For an initial flight search, try flying out on September 29 (Tuesday) and flying back on October 8 (Wednesday)
Flights with TAP Airlines have a 2-4 layover in Lisbon, and take about 14 hours each way total.
If you have the time off in early October, I’d highly suggest getting on one of these flights. It won’t quite be swimming weather in Fall, but it will be plenty hot, and it will be the tourist off-season, so you can find cheaper hotels and hostels, plus have no problems getting a good seat at any of the most popular restaurants.
Nice tends to be a popular coastal destination for many Europeans (especially British) , so expect to encounter all types of travelers on your visit.
Here’s a nice summary of attractions in Nice as well.

The Most Famous Statue in Brussels
All Fall, Delta, Continental, and Jet Airways will all be offering discounted direct flights to Brussels from New York City for $642 including all fees and taxes.
Total flight time each way is about 8 hours.
While its not the best time of year to fly to Central America or the Caribbean, direct flights to Europe can be a welcome alternative, especially in the fall, before the northern parts of Europe get too cold.
It looks like this flight price to Brussels will continue through December, so you could even book a flight around then, then catch a train south into the German, Swiss, or French alps.
$650 is cheap for a direct flight to Europe, though I expect a few cheaper flights to be announced in the next month or so, especially into German cities or Amsterdam.

Just announced this week, Jetblue is offering $29 flights between JFK Airport in New York and Boston each way.
I’d account for another 10 dollars or so in taxes and fees, but this is still one of the cheapest flight prices between New York and Boston that I’ve seen in a while.
This flight discount ends on August 5th (next Wednesday)
Its just a little bit more expensive than the Fung Wah bus, but about 10 times more enjoyable.
To get to Boston from New York, you can also take the train, though that will usually cost about 80 dollar each way.

Hope you enjoy raising liters of beer above your head
Is it too early to start thinking about Oktoberfest?
2009 Oktoberfest is September 19 to August 4th, according to the official Oktoberfest website.
Flights from New York to Munich around this time is about $700 on most dates, but certain days, especially flying early in the week can bring down the price to under $600 including all taxes and fees.
This flight in particular flies out on September 19, and flies back on September 30.
The cheapest flights are with Czech Airlines or KLM.
As an alternative to flying into Munich, flights to Frankfurt or Berlin can be really cheap as well, then just grab a train down to Bavaria.
If you wait to book this flight until only a month or two before Oktoberfest, the price will probably go up to the 800 to 1000 dollar range.
I’d also suggest booking hotels or hostels as soon as possible as well, as they can fill up, or they will jack up the price if you don’t book ahead of time.
One final note on Oktoberfest, in 2007, party goers consumed 6,940,600 liters of beer.
Hope there are adequate bathroom facilities near by…or fire hydrants…

Cool Buildings in China are Popping up Left and Right
This September,
Asiana Airlines is offering roundtrip one-stop flights to Beijing, China from New York for $756 including all taxes and fees.
Flights have a quick layover in Seoul, before heading south to Beijing.
As an alternative, both Continental and Northwest are offering cheap flights to Beijing as well.
Flights to Beijing are typically the cheapest on Monday through Tuesdays, but flights on other days are under 1000 dollars usually as well.
Once you’re in China, the American dollar goes really far as well. You can stay at a five star hotel with wifi and a fitness center for about 50 dollars US.
One final note, before booking your trip, make sure you can acquire a Chinese Tourist Visa. The process of attaining one can be quite a headache, and usually will cost you about 100 dollars.
There are some firms that will acquire the visa for you, or expedite the waiting time.
This site is a good starting point for tourist information in Beijing as well.

Disclaimer: Its hard to find Budweiser in Australia
That seems to be the going price right now for one-stop roundtrip flights to Sydney, Australia from New York City. Both Delta and Northwest are offering these flights, neither of which are my favorite airlines, but for under 800 dollars, I’ll take it.
You can find roundtrip flights to Sydney for this price up until about the second week in December, which is a great deal, as most disounted flights to Australia are only for the offseason, which around this time of year. Come late November, it starts getting very hot (and dry) , making it a prime tourist destination.
$754 roundtrip from New York is one of the cheapest flight prices that I’ve seen in a while.
Qantas sometimes offers discounts as well if you book through their site. They used to offer discounts on multi-city flights as well, but no longer do so.

Wander the Streets of Gamla Stan in Stockholm
Hot on the heals of the latest flight discount announcement form
Iceland Air, Finnair is now offering roundtrip flights to Stockholm from New York City for $504 including all taxes and fees.
Flights are usually in the middle of the week and have a quick layover in Helsinki. Flights with Iceland Air cost about 60 dollars more usually.
Flights are in late August or September, which can be one of the most temperate times to visit Sweden, and before it gets too chilly.
In addition to walking around Gamla Stan, many visitors will have a quick drink or bite at the Gondolen Restaurant, or visit the Skansen Open Air Museum.
Here’s a journal account of what to do in Stockholm.
