Throughout June, both United and V Australia are offering cheap flights to Sydney from LAX. United just announced their Sale, where as V Australia offers these prices fairly regularly.
For the 13 hour flight, I’d highly suggest booking a flight with V Australia rather than United, as the quality of the flight is much higher with them. V Australia is the Australian affiliate of Virgin Airlines.
Flight Details:
May need to book a few weeks in advance. No huge urgency to book overall. I’ve seen flights to Australia dropping in price over the last few months.
One final note, next time I go to Sydney, I want to do this:
Thai Airways is offering three way flights between LA and Bangkok for $1307. This means that you can add any one of the following 12 cities in Thailand to your trip for free:
Chiang Mai, Phuket, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Krabi, Koh Samui, Phitsanulok, Mae Hong Son, Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani, Ubon Thani, Surat Thani
Flight Details:
Must book before May 15th. Must fly between June 1 and July 30.
To be honest, I think this deal is good, not great. I have seen many direct flights to Bangkok from LA for under 1,000, even during heavy travel periods. Within Thailand, flights are usually not too expensive.
Still, as of recently this is one of the better deals on flights to Thailand from LA.
Both Southwest Airlines and Virgin America are offering $49 flights to SFO each way from LAX.
Flight Booking Details:
Try searching for flights on either airlines site - Virgin America, Southwest. May need to book two weeks in advance. The day on which you travel shouldn’t matter too much.
American Airlines has just announced fare decreases for many of their flights to Mexico. Included in this discount is $78 flights each way to Los Cabos from LAX.
When searching for flights, make sure to search multiple travel dates. The cheapest flights are usually on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday, but it can depend week to week.
Cabo is filled with all-inclusive and affordable hotels. A top of the line all-inclusive hotel can run anywhere from $200-400 dollars per night, while you can also find discounted hotels with large swimming pools right on the water for under $150 per night. Especially if you travel in May, hotels in Cabo tend to be quite a bit cheaper.
If you travel to Cabo in May, you’re also going to experience less tourists, and will still encounter zero chance of rain.
