So does it rain too much in Belize in August?

Well, its technically rainy season, but the heavy rains don’t usually come until September and October. Traveling to Belize in August is little riskier than going December-April, but its a lot cheaper, and accommodations are easier to find as well.

From the Belize City airport, you can catch a cab to the water taxi which will take you to the Belizean Cayes (islands). Caulker Caye and Cay Ambergris are the two most popular cayes, but there are hundreds to choose from.

For a more adventurous trip, you can also catch a three-hour local bus into the Belizean Jungle, into San Ignacio, which is a common jump off point for Mayan archaeological expeditions, as well as journeys into some of the biggest Mayan cities of Tikal (in Guatemala) among others.
